At our office, we understand that our patients want brilliant, healthy smiles. Occasionally, we need to offer extra help to some patients who are unhappy with their smiles. As cosmetic dentists, we have many successful therapies to give you the smile of your dreams.
Veneers are an increasingly popular option to improve the appearance of your teeth. Dr. Shahkarami has much experience with applying dental veneers and has countless success stories. Veneers can correct the look of numerous dental flaws including:
- Severe cases of tooth decay
- Chips or breaks
- Discoloration due to medication
- Stains from foods or beverages
- Gaps between teeth
- Misaligned teeth
Getting dental veneers is a painless procedure that requires no downtime. The process usually takes two office visits to complete. After a consultation regarding your goals of treatment, Dr. Shahkarami prepares the teeth by removing a very thin layer of enamel. This process is necessary to make space for your veneer to fit perfectly against your gum line and it also helps the veneer to adhere to your tooth. Our dentist next makes a mold of your teeth. Creating an impression helps to ensure that the veneers fit flawlessly.
There are two types of dental veneers that we offer in our office, porcelain veneers, and resin veneers. Both kinds of veneers are durable, unnoticeable, and provide excellent cover for problem areas; but there are a few differences which may guide you to choose one type over the other.
The porcelain used for dental veneers is extremely stain resistant and durable. We can mix the color of the porcelain to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, and they are unnoticeable in your mouth. However, if you choose porcelain veneers, Dr. Shahkarami must send your impressions to a dental lab to craft your veneers. This process typically takes between two and three weeks. During this time, we can fit you with temporary crowns for aesthetic purposes.
RESIN COMPOUND VENEERS
Dental veneers made of a resin composite are also durable, stain resistant, easily tinted to match your teeth, and unnoticeable in your mouth. The primary advantage that resin veneers have over porcelain veneers is that we can make your resin veneers in our office while you wait. Your veneers will be complete so with a single visit to our office; you can walk out with the smile you have always wanted.
Dental veneers are often the perfect way to painlessly and quickly create the smile of your dreams. Contact our office to find out if veneers are right for you.
